HOT SOX 1.0 is an Ultra High Performance Absorbent Sock available in both standard and custom size specifications.  The primary design application for this product line is the absorption of freestanding and/or migrating mobile liquids in roll-on/roll-off containers but is only limited by ones imagination for other uses.  For use in roll-on/roll-off containers at industrial cleanup sites, HOT SOX 1.0 provides three primary benefits.  By placing the sock lengthwise at the gate end of a lined waste container, HOT SOX 1.0:

1. Helps to eliminate standing water.  During the container loading process, water is applied for dust suppression.  Depending on the waste matrix, water that is not absorbed in the load can migrate and pool during transport.  HOT SOX 1.0 is designed to address this problem by quickly absorbing water that it comes in contact with.

2. Provides a second layer of leak protection.  The seals on heavily used containers wear over time and gates tend to deform after repeated loading and unloading of certain heavy matrix solid waste (i.e. concrete and steel).  This increases the potential for a leak or spill to occur during transportation.  When liquid comes in contact with HOT SOX 1.0, the evenly distributed absorbent within the sock is quickly activated creating a damming effect from sidewall to sidewall of the container while the liquid is wicked up and stored within the sock.  Since it cannot be predicted when gate seals will fail, HOT SOX 1.0 suggests that a sock be placed in suspect containers during return transit from the disposal site or when any containers are to be stored or not used for any length of time (especially during the rainy season).

3. When containers are stored, rainwater can accumulate if cover tarps leak.  This raises the potential for residual waste in the containers to seep past leaky seals and contaminate clean or un-regulated areas.  By placing HOT SOX 1.0 in a stored roll-off container you help mitigate this potential by absorbing the accumulating or existing rainwater.  The water is contained in the HOT SOX 1.0 until it is ready to be removed or left in the container to be disposed as solid waste.  Unlike loose absorbents, there will be no residual mess left by HOT SOX 1.0.
